Dear Sister

I know I don’t say this often, but I love you, I really do. I feel blessed to have grown up with you. I wouldn’t trade you for anything in this world. Thank you for being my wall, holding me when I crumble and picking me up when I fall. Thank you for being there for me, always listening without judging and letting me be myself. Not everyone gets a sister and not every sister is like you. There is no one I would choose over you.

Thank you for bringing out the best in me, cheering me and making me laugh. I wonder how you survived all my antics this far and I wish you would continue to bear with me.

I wish you continue to spread happiness around the world with your amazing positivity and infectious energy. You are kind and honest. You have a pure heart and a beautiful soul. You deserve all the beautiful things in the world and should never settle for anything less.

Okay now time for some sisterly advice. Here it goes,

First and foremost, always be yourself and stay true to what you believe in. Please don’t change yourself for anyone, anything. Never stop to dream big and never fail to chase your dreams. You are highly capable, intelligent, brave and strong. You can achieve anything you want, I know it. Just remember always to put your best foot forward, your whole heart into everything you do and you will become unstoppable. Don’t let the little niggles in life get the better of you, never give up on yourself. Don’t let the new responsibilities and social expectations overwhelm you. Just take it one step at a time.

 

Near or far I will always have your back. Whether you want to vent, whine or crib, count on me even in the wee hours of the night. Learn from the past, look forward to the future and don’t forget to live in the present, for this moment is all we have J
